Well, now with my employer believing that COVID-19 is over, I am finding it harder to make much, if any, progress. On the other hand, nice time for a redesign, don't ya think? 😁 🤪.
As I wrote in a previous news post, this has been and probably always will be a hobby site. It is my hope that I'll make a few interesting tools and pages, but I'm not going to stress if I don't come up with tons of them. I'm remain happy to tinker and play around with it a bit. I've already made a few pages that are useful and entertainingn enough for me, all while learning along the way. Who knows what will happen next? I've got some ideas.
With 2024 upon us, I hope and pray for peace and calm for all Peoples, not only in my country as the looming phantom of insurrection might determine if we remain a democratic society, but throughout the world facing violence and discord. May we return again to civility and shared humanity, respect and mutuality in the days ahead.

How time flies. While little seems to have changed with the website, there has been work going on—albeit painstakingly slow. As denial and forgetfulness of the CoViD-19 pandemic forces society into pretending everything is "back to normal", and dictators have emerged throughout the world trying to claw at what they believe is theirs by some divine right, those of us on the margins and peripheries are corralled back towards the roles we had before 2020. Supply chain and worker shortages have enabled some to seek new and better employment. Some have even been fortunate enough to get better wages as a result. But inflation caused by seismic shifts in global events has crushed so many, making even the gains by the fortunate almost meaningless while the rest of us are now years backwards from a decade of hard work. So many have decided to retire, thousands of years of acquired cumulative knowledge are now little more than smoke.
This has been and probably always will be a hobby site. I guess I am nerdy enough to like programming, but don't have the time, talent, and definitely not the treasure to make it anything more than that. Perhaps a younger version of me once thought it could happen. And while that might be a little sad, it just is what it is. I'm happy to tinker and play around with it a bit. I've already made a few pages that are useful and entertainingn enough for me, all while learning along the way. Who knows what will happen next?
So, as we slide headlong into 2023 with all of the uncertainty these last few years have unleashed, my wish is that the new year is more wonderful, beautiful, and good for all Peoples in a healthy manner than the last three years combined.

Okay, my lame attempt at April Fool's Day humor is resolved. Moving on.
I'm quite happy with the Tavern Generator. So now I'm thinking about what other generators I should improve. Or, perhaps there are new ones I need to create. We'll see what the wind brings.

EEK!!! Shaudawn.com has been hacked!!!
As of exactly midnight on April First of 2022 at your local time zone, infiltrators from the breakaway People's Republic of Transbleckislavia have ...uh...infiltrated my interwebz! They claimed to have compromising pictures of my cats and demanded that I pay them in the cryptocurrency Coinye. Barring that, they said that they would also accept five $500 McDonalds gift cards purchased at the Piggly Wiggly.
I'm currently trying to get ahold of Kitboga to help me with this. I hope to have everything back to “Normal™” by tomorrow.

Well...it took a while, but the Great Redesign of 2022™ has concluded. All of the major pages have been converted to a slightly more streamlined version of PHP-type pages.
Unfortunately, the random generator pages that are still in development are...well...still in development. And that's going to take more time to address. However, every day brings about new and better progress and experience. 😁
One more special request: as the omicron varient recede, the mask mandates lapse, and we start getting back into the world, please remain sensitive to everyone, including those whose immune systems are still compromised, but really, just take care around everyone. Billions of human beings have been under great stress, and millions more continue to be. Take time to smile or wave at people, speak kindly (the great thing about speaking your truth and holding your conviction is that its power doesn't require volume and discourtesy), enjoy sunshine and birds, and get to know your neighbors again.

Who says "Good help is hard to find?" Well...everyone these days, it seems. And that was true even of this web site. ...that is, until now!
I polished up my javascripting skillz and have added a little more color to the tavern generator. Now, a few words about the real folk at your favorite watering hole are included. Enjoy!!! 🍺😁👍

I was looking at some of my old favorite RPG generator websites, and it got me wondering if they'd been updated recently. On most sites, there's really no way to tell. Some sites have copyrite years in their footer sections. But unfortunately that's not always a guarentee that the site has been updated since it's not difficult to just let the script insert today's year. So then, that's when I realized that there wasn't any way for any visitor on my site to tell either. Therefore, I'm adding this blog-like section with an occassional update. It's not going to be updated all of the time, but it at least gives visitor's an idea of when I last did something to my site.

I've been busily working on redesigning and updating the website, mostly cosmetically. I'm utilizing more PHP programming, but still trying to figure out how to integrate that with the javascript aspects. It shouldn't be too difficult, right? (famous last words, I know, but I'm not expecting too steep a learning curve on this. Learning is FUN!!!)

Today, the new front page has been implemented for Shaudawn.com. As such, there might maybe be a few bumps and lost links as I try to get everything straight. If you are missing your favorite content generator or page, let me know. I'm currently going through them all, but since this can be a long process I may not have gotten to your favorite. An e-mail might just bump it to the front of the queue, especially if you ask nice, and especially, especially if chocolate is involved. 😁
Our heart and spirit goes out to those caught up in today's Russian aggression. 😢 We here oppose imperialist colonization, especially that hiding under the guise of "peacekeeping" and we support the indigenous right to self-determination.
